Smoked Spicy Pulled Pork
Rub Ingredients:
- Pork shoulder or Boston Butt
- 1 tablespoon coarse salt
- 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon chilli flakes
- Shredded cabbage
- Mini hamburger buns
Sauce Ingredients:
- 1.5 cups apple cider vinegar
- ¾ cup cold water
- 2 tablespoons sugar or to taste
- ½ cup apple juice
- 1 tablespoon chilli flakes
- 1 small onion finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon coarse salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Procedure:
- Rub the pork shoulder in the rub ingredients until fully covered.
- Place in smoker at 225° Fahrenheit and use chunk of cherry wood.
- When the internal temperature hits 160° Fahrenheit, wrap the pork shoulder in foil, adding ¼ cup apple juice.
- Place back in the smoker and when 205° Fahrenheit.
- Then all done.
- Pull pork apart and add sauce ingredients until pork slightly moist. Add to roll with cabbage.
HOT TIP:
Use a digital thermometer (We recommend EZ Temp Dual Probe Thermometer) to constantly monitor the internal temperature of the meat so you can track whether your meat will be ready on time.
